Helga’s Answer: You can’t do everything from a distance—but you can build a system. Arrange consistent check-ins, a safety plan, and a local point person (neighbor, friend, caregiver). Ask the same questions each call: meals, meds, mood, sleep, and falls. A caregiver can be your eyes and ears and keep small problems from becoming emergencies. The goal is steady support, not crisis management.
